Problem
The main problem our project addresses is the lack of transparency and accountability in community savings groups such as ibimina and cooperatives. From our neighborhood exploration, we found that members cannot properly track their savings or loans, and cases of mismanagement or leaders stealing funds are common. This causes loss of trust and financial harm to people who work hard to save.
MVP
Scope
A blockchain-powered ibimina (traditional savings group) platform designed to modernize and secure community savings systems using the Cardano blockchain.
Cardano Integration
Cardano is integrated as the secure and transparent blockchain layer of our solution. It records savings contributions, loans, and repayments in an immutable ledger so that records cannot be altered or hidden. By using smart contracts, Cardano helps enforce cooperative rules automatically and ensures fairness, accountability, and trust among members.
